Lemon Garlic Butter Shrimp

  • 1/3 cup butter, divided
  • 1 tablespoon garlic or(4 bulb, minced)
  •  800 g shrimp (or prawns), peeled and deveined, tails intact
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Juice of half a lemon (about 2 tablespoons — add more if desired)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Fresh chopped parsley, to garnish


Heat up 2tablespoon butter over medium to high heat in a large saucepan. Add the garlic and fry (about1minute) until golden brown.

Roast the shrimp and add to your taste salt and pepper. Cook on one side for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn and cook on the other hand for 2 minutes until JUST starts turning pink

Put butter, lemon juice and water to the rest. Cook while stirring until the butter and eggs melts (do not overcook them). Remove the heat. Smell a bit and add more citrus juice, salt or pepper to fit your tastes if necessary.

serve over rice or pasta and garnish with fresh sliced parsley.
