  1. Preheat the oven to 350 ° C.
  2. Whisk flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt and baking powder together.
  3. Whisk egg, buttermilk and melted butter together in a separate bowl.
  4. Combine the ingredients wet and dry until they are combined.
  5. Layer into an 8×8 pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick is clean.
